The Arizona Wildcats have lost one of their highest-rated unsigned commits on the eve of the late signing period.

Alphonse Oywak, a 3-star cornerback from Washington, decommitted from Arizona on Monday and immediately pledged himself to the Washington State Cougars.

Ranked by 247 Sports as the No. 642 player in the 2020 recruiting class and the No. 28 corner, Oywak originally committed to Arizona in July but opted not to sign with the Wildcats in December, partly due to the uncertainty surrounding the defensive coaching staff.

Had Oywak signed with Arizona he would have been their second highest-ranked addition behind 3-star all-purpose back Frank Brown, who committed on Jan. 14.

The loss of Oywak drops Arizona's 2020 class, which has 12 signed recruits and four unsigned, behind Wazzu for last in the Pac-12. It is 62nd-best overall.
