A pair of dominant team performances by the Arizona Wildcats over the weekend have helped return Zeke Nnaji to a familiar perch atop the rest of the Pac-12 Conference’s first-year players.

Nnaji was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week for the third time this season after averaging 18 points and 10 rebounds in wins over Utah and Colorado. It was his third such honor, the other two coming in November.

Nnaji had 24 points and eight rebounds in Thursday’s 93-77 victory over Utah, then followed that up with 12 points and 12 boards in the 75-54 win against Colorado on Saturday. He hit a three-pointer in both games, giving the 6-foot-11 freshman three triples on the season.

For the year Nnaji is averaging 16.7 points and 8.7 rebounds on 65.3 percent shooting.

An Arizona player has now won the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week award four times, with Nico Mannion getting a nod in early December. No Wildcat has claimed Pac-12 Player of the Week honors yet this season.
