Arizona returns to AP Top 25 after one-week absence

NCAA Basketball: Colorado at Arizona Jacob Snow-USA TODAY Sports

A pair of blowouts over Utah and Colorado were enough to push the Arizona Wildcats back into the Top 25. After a one-week absence, the Wildcats check in at No. 22 in the latest AP Poll that was released Monday.

Oregon and Colorado are also ranked. The Ducks fell from No. 8 to No. 12 after splitting at Washington State and Washington.

Colorado, previously ranked 20th, wasn’t penalized too severely for its 21-point loss to Arizona, now ranking 23rd. Stanford and USC are both receiving votes. The Cardinal likely would have entered the Top 25 had they not blown a 20-point halftime lead in a loss to the Trojans.

Two teams Arizona lost to, Baylor and Gonzaga, are ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in the country, respectively. Illinois, who the Wildcats routed in McKale Center, are ranked No. 21.

As far as other rankings go, Arizona ranks 11th in NET and 14th in KenPom. The Wildcats are at ASU on Saturday.
