Brandon’s Thoughts: Baker is one of the most underrated prospects in the class. He will be coming to Tucson with a toolbox of skills needed for a successful offensive lineman.

He has impressive footwork, which allows him to set his base quickly. Baker also possesses a surprising quickness and burst of speed. This has allowed him to be extremely effective as a pulling tackle when needed.

Baker is very strong and even had a video of him posted to Twitter showing him hang cleaning 355 pounds. That is not easy in any way. He also plays with aggression and a nasty edge to his game.

Very nice addition to Arizona’s class, though we need to discuss his appetite for well done steaks.

Gabe’s Thoughts: Josh Baker is why it’s important to evaluate film and not base the prospect off of recruiting services. Incredibly strong, mean, quick, has great footwork and might be the most complete prospect of the bunch. I don’t think he’s too far off from being a top 500 prospect.

It’s extremely difficult for an offensive lineman to jump into the mix of a Power Five program and do well but we’ve seen it before with Donovan Laie and Jacob Alsadek. I think that can be case the for Baker too.

Josh’s Thoughts on being a Wildcat: “That it is an incredible, once in a lifetime opportunity that can help open many doors in the future.”

Season Highlights:

Favorite Food: “Steak for sure. I go for well done.”

Favorite Music Artist: “Luke Combs.”

Hobbies: “Well I do love hunting, fishing, and I’m a big fan of watching my school’s sports teams. I like to hunt whitetail deer and turkey.”

Favorite Sports Team/Pro Athlete: “I’d have to say Jason Kelce, the center for the (Philadelphia) Eagles. His athleticism and knowledge of the game is insane. That’s where I want to be and I’m working to get there.”

Biggest Supporter Throughout Your Career: “Most definitely my parents but I’ve also been fortunate to have great coaches, from training academy coaches to high school. Another special mention to some of my high school coaches, mainly my offensive line coach Andy McCollum. He played 16 years in the NFL and won a Super Bowl at center with the Rams.”

What You Like Most About Playing Football: “Football is different than a lot of other sports. To succeed and excel, you don’t need just one guy, but everyone working together and executing assignments to win a game.”

Fondest Memory of High School Career: “Just learning from numerous older guys before me with anything I could try to better at.”

Major: “Currently undecided but most likely criminal justice.”
