Salpointe lineman Bruno Fina doesn’t include Arizona in Final 3
Fina won’t be following in his father’s footsteps
Salpointe offense lineman Bruno Fina, the son of Arizona Wildcats Hall of Fame lineman John Fina, unveiled his final three schools on Thursday, and the UA is not one of them.
The three-star guard’s top choices are Boston College, UCLA, and Yale.
A huge thank you to all the colleges who have offered me such great opportunities. Here are The Final Three. pic.twitter.com/npQlBna7ld

It is another instance of Arizona failing to land a top local talent. Salpointe safety Lathan Ransom, a high-four-star recruit, committed to Ohio State on Tuesday. He didn’t even have Arizona in his top 5 and admitted it bothered him that his hometown Wildcats were not the first school to offer him.
Arizona wasn’t as proactive in Fina’s recruitment either. UCLA and USC both offered him first. It’s not clear if that led to Fina dropping the Wildcats from consideration, but it probably didn’t help their chances, and it’s a bad look that they aren’t even a finalist.
Don’t expect five-star running back Bijan Robinson to stay in Tucson either. The Salpointe product is expected to land at a national powerhouse like Ohio State, Texas or USC.
Arizona’s current 2020 class ranks 11th in the Pac-12, and recently saw its top-ranked commit reopen his recruitment.
