The Arizona Wildcats scored 12 runs in its final two at-bats to crush the Oregon Ducks 17-6 on Friday night at Hi Corbett Field.

Arizona (20-23, 8-14 Pac-12) scored all its runs in three innings, posting five in the bottom of the third—after Oregon (23-20, 8-11) did the same in the top of the frame—and six more in both the seventh and eighth innings.

Trailing 6-5, Arizona took the lead for good with a six-run seventh keyed by run-scoring hits from Austin Wells, Dayton Dooney and Matthew Dyer. Dyer’s single extended his hitting streak to 19 games, while Wells became Arizona’s first freshman with 40 RBI in a season since future first-round MLB pick Kevin Newman had 42 in 2013.

Dooney and Wells were among five Arizona players with at least two hits, while six different Wildcats had two or more RBI. Justin Wylie was part of both groups, going 3 for 5 with two RBI.

Arizona’s final runs game on a solo home run from freshman Branden Boissiere, the first of his college career.

The Wildcats finished with 16 hits and drew 10 walks.

Randy Labaut (5-3) earned the win despite allowing six runs, five of them earned, yielding seven hits and no walks in seven innings of work. Vince Vannelle and Zach Sherman then followed with scoreless frames to close it out.

Arizona and Oregon meet again Saturday at 6 p.m.
