Walk-on no longer: Center Josh McCauley put on scholarship ahead of Arizona’s spring game
Josh McCauley played every snap at center for the Arizona Wildcats last season, anchoring an offensive line that dealt with injuries and suspensions yet still managed to pave the way for the top rushing attack in the Pac-12.
And McCauley did so while paying his own way to school. But not anymore.
McCauley, a redshirt junior, was officially put on scholarship Saturday prior to Arizona’s spring game.
EARNED IT. ️

The move was a no-brainer for the Wildcats, who had available scholarships after numerous players left the program during the offseason. That means there’s also room for special teams star Thomas Reid III, who was an all-conference honorable mention selection in 2018 for his work on punt and kick coverage.
