2019 Arizona football schedule revealed

What’s the best way to cope with the end of the Arizona Wildcats’ sad and disappointing 2018 season? How about by poring over the 2019 schedule and trying to project which games Arizona will be able to win?

The Pac-12 released the 2019 football schedule on Tuesday, with Arizona’s Aug. 24 game at Hawaii kicking things off five days before everyone else in the league. The Wildcats’ 12-game slate features six home games and six road games, ending with the Territorial Cup Nov. 29 at Arizona State.

Here’s how the schedule looks as a whole:

Aug. 24 at Hawaii

Sept. 7 Northern Arizona

Sept. 14 Texas Tech

Sept. 28 UCLA

Oct. 5 at Colorado

Oct. 12 Washington (Family Weekend)

Oct. 19 at USC

Oct. 26 at Stanford

Nov. 2 Oregon State (Homecoming)

Nov. 16 at Oregon

Nov. 23 Utah

Nov. 29 (Fri.) at Arizona State

The combination of starting early against Hawaii, during what is called “Week Zero,” and a more expanded calendar window, means Arizona currently has three off weeks during the season: Aug. 31, Sept. 21 and Nov. 9. The Wildcats are allowed to add a 13th game because of its trip to Hawaii if they choose to.

The Hawaii game will be Arizona’s first in Honolulu since opening the 1998 season with a 27-6 win there. Texas Tech is on the schedule for the first time since 1989, when Arizona lost 24-14 to the Red Raiders in Lubbock.

And among Pac-12 foes, the visit to Stanford will be the Wildcats’ first since 2015.

After playing a pair of Friday night games in 2018, Arizona’s lone weeknight tilt is the season-ending Territorial Cup.
