Parker Jackson-Cartwright drafted by G League’s Raptors 905
Not much has been said about Parker Jackson-Cartwright since his Arizona Wildcats career came to a close last March, but the point guard has found a new home north of the border.
Jackson-Cartwright was selected by the Raptors 905, the Toronto Raptors’ affiliate, in the second round (No. 52 pick) of the NBA G League Draft on Saturday.
Per the G League website, players eligible to be drafted are those who signed with the league prior to Oct. 15.
The base salary for G League players in 2018-19 is $35,000, roughly $7,000 per month for the five-month regular season.
The Raptors 905, based in Mississauga, Ontario, open their season Friday, Oct. 26 against the Erie BayHawks.
Jackson-Cartwright averaged 5.5 points and 3.4 assists in 134 games at Arizona. As a senior, he averaged career-highs in points (7.8), assists (4.5), steals (1.4) and other categories. He shot 42 percent from 3 as well.
It will be interesting to see how the 5-8 guard fares against stiffer competition in the G League.
