Arizona makes final 5 for 4-star forward CJ Walker

The Arizona Wildcats may have zero commitments in the 2019 basketball recruiting class but they’re starting to corner the market on making the final cut of schools for top prospects.

The latest recruit to include Arizona after trimming his options is 4-star power forward CJ Walker, who had previously listed the Wildcats in his top 12 earlier this month.

The 6-foot-8, 200-pound Walker is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 45 player in the 2019 class as well as the nation’s 10th-best power forward. From Orlando, he’s considered the No. 10 prospect from Florida.

“They came on board a little later than the others, but they have been after me hard since then,” Walker said of Arizona, per Pat Lawless of PrepCicruit.com. “They are looking for me to start and continue to build up their program.”

Walker is the sixth different top-100 player in the past week to have Arizona among their top schools. The others are 5-star point guard Nico Mannion, 5-star forwards Josh Green and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, 4-star guard Boogie Ellis and 4-star forward Jaelyn Withers.

Mannion is the only one who has scheduled an official visit to Arizona, the Phoenix native set to come to town Oct. 19-21 after taking an unofficial visit for the Wildcats’ Red-Blue scrimmage on Oct. 14.
