Rawle Alkins to sign with Rosenhaus Sports, per report

Looks like Alkins has a new agent

After parting ways with his previous representation, Rawle Alkins has agreed to sign with Rosenhaus Sports Representation, according to Jordan Schultz of Yahoo! Sports.

Rosenhaus Sports is mostly known for representing NFL players, but it added a basketball division to its firm last year. It’s led by Bobby Petriella.

Other RSR basketball clients include Anfernee Simons and Diamond Stone.

Alkins had hired Dan Frank and Jarinn Akana of Dynasty Sports Management during the pre-draft process, but then it was reported last week that he was without representation.

Alkins is playing for the Toronto Raptors in NBA Summer League and was reportedly going to sign with them as undrafted free agent, but he has yet to put pen to paper.

Now that he has representation, it seems like a deal will get done as originally expected. Alkins has certainly played well enough in Summer League to earn an NBA contract. He is averaging 10.2 points and 5.2 rebounds in 18.8 minutes in Las Vegas.

Saturday, Alkins had 25 points and 11 rebounds in an overtime win against the Hornets.

“Rawle Alkins continued to show why the Raptors moved so swiftly to bring him in after the draft, scoring 25 points on 18 possessions, hitting five threes – a supposed weakness in his profile still – and providing his trademark on-ball defense,” wrote Blake Murphy of Raptors Republic.

Alkins was reportedly set to sign an Exhibit 10 contract with Toronto, but it will be interesting to see if that’s still the case now that he has new representation.

Given his potential and the way he has performed at Summer League, Alkins seems like a prime candidate for a two-way contract, which is a step above an Exhibit 10 contract. You can read about both contracts here.
