Arizona emerging as the favorite for 5-star wing Josh Green?

The 5-star wing is the No. 11 player in the 2019 class

The experts view the Arizona Wildcats as the favorite to land five-star point guard Nico Mannion, and apparently they are in good standing with one of his AAU teammates, too.

Two Crystal Ball predictions have been submitted for five-star forward Josh Green in the last two days, and both predict he will commit to Arizona.

The predictions were made by Dain Ervin and 247Sports director of basketball scouting Jerry Meyer. Meyer has submitted over 1,000 Crystal Ball predictions and has been accurate roughly 74 percent of the time.

Green is a 6-foot-6 wing ranked No. 11 in the 2019 class. Aside from Arizona, he holds offers from schools like Kansas, UCLA, Oregon, and Villanova.

Green has not named any finalists yet, but he has visited Arizona three different times, with the most recent visit taking place in June. The only other school he has visited, per 247Sports, is USC.

Arizona’s coaching staff watched Mannion and Green at Elite 100 Camp this past weekend. They play for West Coast Elite on the AAU circuit.

Mannion is the No. 17 player in the 2019 class. The 6-foot-3 point guard just reclassified from 2020 last week and is expected to narrow his finalists Wednesday.

“Their chemistry in the backcourt is second to none and it clearly shows in each contest that they pair up in,” Rivals’ Corey Evans wrote of Mannion and Green. “Not only are they talented prospects and two of the best in their respective classes, but they’re also unselfish playmakers that can be used in a variety of roles which reflects their strong set of intangibles and winning background.”

Green attends IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida where he averaged 27.9 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.6 steals per game last season.

Green used to attend Hillcrest Prep in Phoenix — the same school Deandre Ayton went to — before transferring to IMG before his junior season. Green is originally from Australia.

He has been dubbed “Australia’s Next Basketball Star” in this feature:
