Kyle Fogg to attend Brooklyn Nets free agent mini-camp

Fogg is still trying to realize his NBA dream

Kyle Fogg has had a wildly successful basketball career overseas, but the 28-year-old still hasn’t given up on his NBA dream.

The former Arizona Wildcat is set to participate in a three-day free-agent mini-camp with the Brooklyn Nets, according to Alex Kennedy of HoopsHype.

Fogg will be joined by Brice Johnson, Semaj Christon, Xavier Silas, Josh Gray, Naz Mitrou-Long, Jarrod Uthoff, and Thomas Wimbush, among others.

Fogg just finished his first season with the Guangzhou Long-Lions in the Chinese Basketball Association, where he made $2 million and averaged 35.8 points per game.

Before that, Fogg had stints in Spain, Belgium, Germany, Finland, and the NBA G League. He won the EuroCup in 2017 with Unicaja.

Fogg has also won The Basketball Tournament three years in a row, pocketing about $5 million from that.

So he is clearly an accomplished professional player, but he has yet to appear in an NBA game. Fogg has appeared in two preseason games — one with the Rockets and one with the Nuggets — but never the real thing.

Perhaps this workout with the Nets is the next step to making that happen. If not, Fogg can return to China where he’s under contract for another $2 million.

Not a bad fallback.
