Arizona falls to No. 1 Washington in walk-off fashion for second straight day
Another heartbreaking loss for the Wildcats
Two games, two walk-offs.
An eight inning game-winning RBI double by Taryn Atlee propelled No. 1 Washington to a 4-3 victory over No. 9 Arizona on Saturday in Seattle.
It’s the second straight walk-off victory for the Huskies, who beat the Wildcats 2-1 on Friday.
Washington improves to 31-2 overall and 3-2 in the Pac-12. Arizona falls to 25-4 and 3-2, respectively.
The Huskies scored two runs in the first inning off UA right-hander Alyssa Denham, which were the only two runs of the game until Jessie Harper mashed a three-run homer in the top of the sixth to put UA ahead.
Jessie did the darn thing.

But Arizona blew a late lead for the second straight night.
Taylor McQuillin relieved Denham in the sixth and the first batter she faced, Emma Helm, homered to left-center to tie the game.

Washington threatened in the seventh, putting two runners on base, but McQuillin was able to escape the jam.
She wasn’t so fortunate in the eighth.
Helm walked to lead off the inning, then Atlee roped a ball off the right-center field wall, scoring Helm from first.

McQuillin (16-3) picked up her second loss of the series. Taran Alvelo (15-1) picked up her second win. The UW left-hander pitched the last two innings, striking out four and keeping the Wildcats off the bases altogether.
Gabbie Plain started for the Huskies and threw six innings, allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out seven.
Denham, who pitched five innings, allowed two RBI singles in the first inning, but settled in from there.
Washington will go for the sweep Sunday at 1 p.m. on the Pac-12 Networks.
