Oregon, ASU to visit former Arizona commit Brandon Williams

The former Arizona commit is receiving lots of attention from other Pac-12 schools

If the Arizona Wildcats can’t land Brandon Williams, it looks like a Pac-12 rival might.

The former UA commit is set to receive in-home visits from Arizona State and Oregon in the next few days, per national recruiting analyst Jake Weingarten.

Williams will be visited by ASU’s entire coaching staff on Sunday, then by Oregon head coach Dana Altman and assistant Tony Stubblefield on Tuesday.

Williams has also drawn interest from several other schools, including UCLA, Kansas, Gonzaga, and Ohio State.

The 6-foot-3 point guard from Crespi Carmelite High School in Encino, California is the No. 31 prospect in the 2018 class and No. 7 point guard.

Williams decommitted from Arizona on March 2 after ESPN reported FBI wiretaps have Sean Miller discussing a $100,000 payment to secure the signing of Deandre Ayton.

Arizona is still in consideration for Williams and Miller visited him on March 21, but clearly it will be difficult to lure Williams back to the UA, seeing how many other schools are pursuing him.

Landing Williams is paramount for the Wildcats since he is one of the top recruits still uncommitted, not to mention Arizona desperately needs to add talent to its roster since it’s set to lose seven scholarship players and currently has zero 2018 commits.

Plus, Williams would likely be penciled in as Arizona’s starting point guard from day one.
