Dereck Boles makes Pro Football Focus’ National Team of the Week

Colin Schooler made the Pac-12 Team of the Week, too

Two Arizona Wildcats were recognized by Pro Football Focus for their performance in last weekend’s 49-28 win over the Oregon State Beavers.

Freshman linebacker Colin Schooler and redshirt junior defensive tackle Dereck Boles were named to Pro Football Focus’ Pac-12 Team of the Week.

Schooler had six tackles, including three tackles for loss and two sacks, receiving a grade of 86.1 by the folks at PFF.

Boles, a transfer from Boise State, had a career-high seven tackles (one for loss), and received a stellar grade of 92.1.

Boles played so well he actually made PFF’s National Team of the Week, too — Arizona’s first defensive player to do that this season.

Boles and Schooler helped Arizona limit Oregon State to just 3.7 yards per carry. The newcomers have helped lead an improved defensive unit in Tucson this year.

Despite scoring 49 points, the Wildcats did not have any offensive players on PFF’s Pac-12 Team of the Week.

Arizona will look for its second straight win Saturday against the Oregon Ducks in Eugene, Ore.

Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. MST and the game will be televised on the Pac-12 Network.
