Bowl projections: Khalil Tate vs. Lamar Jackson continues to be a possibility
The Sun Bowl vs. Louisville?
The Arizona Wildcats may be out of the Pac-12 title race, but there is still plenty of football to be played, including a bowl game.
At 7-3 with road games against Oregon and ASU remaining, the Wildcats can finish anywhere from 7-5 to 9-3 in the regular season.
And here’s where the experts believe Arizona will be bowling after that:
Foster Farms Bowl (Dec. 27 — Santa Clara, CA)
- Sporting News (vs. Northwestern)
- Bleacher Report (vs. Minnesota)
Holiday Bowl (Dec. 28 — San Diego, CA)
- SB Nation (vs. Michigan State)
- CBS Sports (vs. Northwestern)
Sun Bowl (Dec. 29th — El Paso, TX)
- ESPN’s David Hale (vs. Louisville)
- ESPN’s Kyle Bonagura (vs. Louisville)
- Sports Illustrated (vs. Louisville)
In my opinion, Louisville would be the ideal opponent among those listed, solely because Khalil Tate vs. Lamar Jackson would be super fun.
That said, the best location of the three is the Holiday Bowl because San Diego is awesome.
Last week, Arizona was faced with the possibility of playing a Big Ten powerhouse like Michigan, Ohio State, or Michigan, but that appears to be off the table for now.
Pac-12 bowl tie-ins
- Alamo Bowl vs. Big 12
- Holiday Bowl vs. Big Ten
- Foster Farms Bowl vs. Big Ten
- Sun Bowl vs. ACC/Notre Dame
- Las Vegas Bowl vs. Mountain West
- Cactus Bowl vs. Big 12
(Note: The Rose Bowl is a CFP Semifinal game this season so the Pac-12 champion is not automatically eligible for a spot in the game.)
