Bowl projections: Arizona to face Ohio State in Holiday Bowl?
Arizona could face some Big Ten heavyweights in San Diego
The Arizona Wildcats had their four-game winning streak snapped against the USC Trojans this past weekend, but there is still plenty of reason to be optimistic about the team from Tucson.
Arizona (6-3, 4-2 Pac-12) is already bowl eligible and has three winnable games — vs. Oregon State, at Oregon, at ASU — remaining on its schedule, so there’s still an opportunity to win eight or even nine games this season and make it to a noteworthy bowl game.
And here are the bowl games experts think Arizona could play in:
Foster Farms Bowl (Dec. 27 — Santa Clara, CA)
- Bleacher Report (vs. Northwestern)
- Sporting News (vs. Northwestern)
Holiday Bowl (Dec. 28 — San Diego, CA)
- SB Nation (vs. Ohio State)
- ESPN’s David Hale: (vs. Michigan)
- ESPN’s Kyle Bonagura: (vs. Penn State)
Alamo Bowl (Dec. 29 — San Antonio, TX)
- CBS (vs. Oklahoma State)
Sun Bowl (Dec. 29 — El Paso, TX)
- Sports Illustrated: (vs. Virginia)
Pac-12 bowl tie-ins
- Alamo Bowl vs. Big 12
- Holiday Bowl vs. Big Ten
- Foster Farms Bowl vs. Big Ten
- Sun Bowl vs. ACC/Notre Dame
- Las Vegas Bowl vs. Mountain West
- Cactus Bowl vs. Big 12
(Note: The Rose Bowl is a CFP Semifinal game this season so the Pac-12 champion is not automatically eligible for a spot in the game.)
