3-star defensive end Adam Plant re-commits to Arizona

Plant re-commits to the Wildcats after de-committing in April

Three-star defensive end Adam Plant has re-committed to the Arizona Wildcats, he announced Monday on Twitter.

The 6-foot-3, 235-pound lineman committed to the UA back in mid-April, but a month later, he decommitted, citing more interest from other schools.

The Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nev.) product is the No. 7 player in Nevada and the No. 52 weakside defensive end in the country, according to 247Sports’ Composite rankings. Overall, Plant is the No. 867 recruit in the 2018 class.

Plant had a big offseason, winning defensive line MVP at the Rivals 3-Stripe Camp in Los Angeles and defensive line MVP at a USC camp this summer.

So far in his senior campaign for the Gaels, Plant has 41 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, five pass breakups, and two fumble recoveries (one for a touchdown).

Plant also had offers from USC, Penn State, and Oregon.

He becomes the 18th member of Arizona’s 2018 class, and the fourth-highest ranked prospect in the group. Plant fills a major needs as he is only the second defensive lineman the UA has landed in 2018.

Here are some of his highlights:
