Arizona basketball recruiting: 2018 5-star forward Nazreon Reid planning to visit Wildcats

The big man also plans to visit Kansas, Kentucky, and UCLA

Five-star forward Nazreon Reid has started to narrow his list of schools, and the Arizona Wildcats have made the cut.

The 2018 prospect told Adam Zagoria of ZagsBlog.com that he has already set visit dates to UCLA and Kansas, and also wants to visit Arizona and Kentucky. Reid visited LSU at the end of June for his first of five official visits.

“I should be making a visit [to Arizona], not sure when,” he said.

Reid officially has a top seven of Kentucky, Louisville, Seton Hall, Arizona, UCLA, Kansas, and LSU.

The 6-foot-9 forward is the No. 11 player in the 2018 class and No. 5 power forward, according to 247Sports.com.

A New Jersey native, Reid is AAU teammates with Jahvon Quinerly, who took an official visit to UA in June, and Reid told Zagoria that they have talked about playing together at the next level.

“Yeah, no doubt we could go to school together,” Reid said. “I love the way he plays, he love the way I play. He’s like my brother. Of course, we talk about a lot together.

Both Reid and Quinerly will be visiting Kansas and UCLA together, tweets Zagoria.

Reid’s frame makes him a force in the paint and he’s drawn comparisons to LA Clippers star Blake Griffin.

Should Reid commit to Arizona, he wouldn’t have trouble finding immediate playing time. The Wildcats are set to lose Dusan Ristic, Keanu Pinder, and likely DeAndre Ayton, leaving them with a need for a post players.
