Arizona football: Orlando Bradford accuser seeking one million dollars from University

The school could now be on the hook for some compensation

A woman who has accused former Arizona Wildcats running back Orlando Bradford of domestic abuse has filed a notice of claim against the University of Arizona, seeking $1 million in settlement money from the U of A and the Arizona Board of Regents.

According to the Daily Star, the filing by the woman’s attorney alleges that the Arizona athletic department knew about the initial violent behavior that Bradford had towards her and another female athlete, but athletics did not take the appropriate actions.

Arizona “allowed him to continue to play on the football team, be present on campus as a student, and upon information and belief, did not take appropriate action to restrain his violent and assaultive behavior,” the filing states.

It has also been stated before that some of these violent actions were witnessed by other Arizona football players who happened to be roommates of Bradford at the time.

At the beginning of February, Bradford’s trial start date was set for August 1st. The 15 total charges he faces have been brought forward by the two women that were in romantic relationships with Bradford at one point.

Bradford is also trying to play football at a junior college in California this upcoming season after being dismissed by Rich Rodriguez and Arizona. He has admitted to pushing and grabbing the women, but did not admit to hitting or strangling in these incidents.
