Arizona football recruiting: Warren Jackson decommits from Wildcats

A tall wide receiver is now looking elsewhere

After the Arizona Wildcats landed a verbal commitment from three-star linebacker Anthony Pandy, they lost one when three-star WR Warren Jackson tweeted that he would be opening up his recruitment.

“After thought and prayer, I would like to reopen my recruitment process,” he wrote. “I would like to thank the Arizona family and especially coach Rich Rodriguez and coach Tony Dews for the opportunity and support *100 emoji*.”

Jackson committed to Arizona back in June, and according to his 247 timeline, he was on the U of A campus two weekends ago.

It appears the most recent off he received was from Washington State back in October. He also just visited Colorado State and Fort Collins this previous weekend.

At 6-foot-5, Jackson would have been an important piece to the wide receiver puzzle. Brian Casteel and Drew Dixon are both slated to come into Arizona as WRs, but that’s about it for the Wildcats right now.

This decommitment drops Arizona’s recruiting class back down to 25 members, with five of those already being enrolled. The 2017 class is currently ranked 35th nationally, and 7th in the Pac-12.
