Sonoran Hot Reads: Arizona volleyball completes first-ever season sweep of L.A. schools

Pretty impressive stuff in McKale

The Arizona Wildcats volleyball team were honoring head coach Dave Rubio’s 25th season with the program on Friday night, and they did it by doing something the school had never done before. Arizona took down No. 9 UCLA in straight sets (28-26, 25-21, 25-20) in front of a season-high 2,430 fans in McKale Center. This victory gave the school a season sweep of the L.A. schools for the first time in program history. It was also the team’s first win over a top-ten team since 2014, but is their sixth win over a ranked team in the last five weeks. Arizona is now 16-10 overall this year, 8-6 in conference play
