Arizona Wildcats in the NFL: Nick Foles leads the Chiefs to another win

Nick Foles had another solid outing while Reed and Wade had season bests

Week 9 saw some season best performances for some former Arizona Wildcats as well as the Chiefs winning their second in a row with their backup.

Let’s take a look at the performances of the Arizona alums.

Nick Foles, QB (#4), Kansas City Chiefs

2016 Stats: 36-for-55, 410 yds, 3 TD, 0 INT

Foles played for the second week in a row for the Chiefs. On Sunday, they played against the struggling Jacksonville Jaguars. Kansas City ended up beating the Jags 19-14 in a surprisingly close game. Foles made some really good passes and finished the game 20-for-33 with 187 yards and a touchdown. He will be taking a seat this coming week as Alex Smith is back healthy and taking back the starting job.

Brooks Reed, LB/DE (#50), Atlanta Falcons

2016 Stats: 14 tackles and 1 forced fumble

Reed continues to be a solid defensive performer for Atlanta ever since his shoulder injury earlier in the year. The Falcons absolutely destroyed the Tampa Bay Bucs on Thursday night 43-28. Reed had his best performance of the season, recording four tackles.

Trevin Wade, DB (#31), New York Giants

2016 Stats: 13 tackles and 1 PBU

Wade played better than he has all year on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. Going against talented rookie quarterback Carson Wentz isn’t an easy task, but Wade held his own for the most part. He finished the game with three tackles, and had some good coverage down the field for most of the game. The Giants defeated the Eagles 28-23 in a close one.

Robert Golden, S (#21), Pittsburgh Steelers

2016 Stats: 29 tackles, 1 stuff, 1 PBU

Golden’s Steelers had quite the disappointing day on Sunday. The traveled to Baltimore to take on the Ravens and lost a surprising game 21-14. Golden was relatively quiet during the game only recording two tackles.

Will Parks, S (#34), Denver Broncos

2016 Stats: 12 tackles, 1 INT, 1 PBU

Parks continues to earn playing time for the Broncos, which is a good sign. Denver traveled to Oakland to take on the red hot Raiders on Sunday night. Parks ended up recording two tackles in a 30-20 loss to Oakland. There seems to be a new alpha in the AFC West for the time being.

Nick Folk, K (#2), New York Jets

2016 Stats: FG: 16-for-18 with a long of 45 yards; PAT: 17-for-18

Folk continues to be a consistent NFL kicker. His Jets faced off against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday and lost a close one, 27-23. Folk ended up going 3-for-3 on field goal attempts, with a long of 28 yards. He was also 2-for-2 on PATs.

Earl Mitchell, DT (#90), Miami Dolphins

2016 Stats: 1 tackle

Mitchell is still on injured reserve due to a calf injury.

Ka’Deem Carey, Marquis Flowers, and Gronk were all on bye weeks.
