Sonoran Hot Reads: Greg Byrne says Rich Rodriguez not on the hot seat

The talk of RichRod getting fired seems out of line

As each loss piles up for the Arizona Wildcats this year, more and more people seem to be calling for Rich Rodriguez to be fired. Well, if you believe what Greg Byrne told the Daily Star in Salt Lake City, that won’t be happening this year. This is how he responded when asked if Rodriguez would be on the hot seat if the season keeps going downhill:

“From time to time, I’ve been asked some ridiculous questions by the media. I think that one just went to the top of the list.”

- Volleyball had an enormously successful weekend in Los Angeles, capping it by rallying from two sets down to beat No. 18 UCLA in five sets

- Soccer lost to Washington 2-1

- Swimming and diving swept their first meet of the year up at NAU

- Softball got their fall schedule started, did not allow a run in 12 innings played, and threw a no-hitter against GCU. We’ll be talking to Mike Candrea on Monday
