Arizona Wildcats in the NFL: Ka’Deem Carey breaks 100 yards for the season

Ka’Deem is earning his playing time

Week 7 in the NFL had plenty of interesting games to say the least. The most interesting game was the 6-6 tie between the Seattle Seahawks and the Arizona Cardinals.

More importantly, there were plenty of former Wildcats who saw action this past week and had good showings.

Ka’Deem Carey, RB (#25), Chicago Bears

2016 Stats: 23 car, 107 yds, 0 TD; 3 rec, 27 yds, 0 TD

The Bears had a Thursday night game against the Green Bay Packers and even though it didn’t go well for Chicago, Carey was a bright spot. He busted a career-long run of 24 yards and played so well in the first half, he started the second. He had some good, hard runs and showed flashes of what made him great in college. He finished the game with 10 carries for 48 yards and had 27 yards on three catches.

Rob Gronkowski, TE (#87), New England Patriots

2016 Stats: 23 rec, 375 yds, 2 TD

Gronk is starting to put up big numbers once again; partly because he is fully healthy, but the biggest reason is because Tom Brady is back. Gronk caught a touchdown over former Wildcat Robert Golden in New England’s 27-16 victory over Pittsburgh. He finished the game with 93 yards on four catches and a touchdown. Also of note, Gronk is really excited about getting his 69th career touchdown catch in the future.

Robert Golden, S (#21), Pittsburgh Steelers

2016 Stats: 27 tackles, 1 PBU, 1 stuff

Golden didn’t have his best game Sunday against the Patriots. He was beaten by Gronk a few times, including that Gronk touchdown catch. Golden isn’t a bad defensive back, Gronk is just the best tight end in the business. Golden finished with three tackles in Pittsburgh’s 27-16 loss.

Will Parks, S (#34), Denver Broncos

2016 Stats: 8 tackles, 1 INT, 1 PBU, 1 fumble rec

The safety is continuing his strong rookie campaign. He has, for the most part, been an excellent cover safety and has been a sure tackler. His Broncos routed the Texans 27-9 on Monday night. Parks finished the game with two tackles. He was also listed as one of the NFL’s best strong safeties for Week 6.

Brooks Reed, LB/DE (#50), Atlanta Falcons

2016 Stats: 9 tackles, 1.0 sack, 1 forced fumble

Reed has bounced back nicely from his shoulder injury he sustained earlier in the year. He has been a consistent piece in Atlanta’s defense and showed why again on Sunday. Reed had three tackles and a sack against the San Diego Chargers. Atlanta, however, gave the game away in the second half and overtime, losing 33-30.

Nick Folk, K (#2), New York Jets

2016 Stats: FG: 12-for-14 with a long of 48 yards; PAT: 11-for-12

Folk had his second missed field goal on the year in New York’s 24-16 win over Baltimore. He went 1-for-2 on field goal attempts and was 3-for-3 on PATs.

Trevin Wade, DB (#31), New York Giants

2016 Stats: 10 tackles, 1 PBU

Wade did see action Sunday morning against the Los Angeles Rams, however, he didn’t obtain any stats.

Marquis Flowers, LB (#53), Cincinnati Bengals

2016 Stats: 4 tackles

Flowers did see action in Cincinnati’s 31-17 victory over Cleveland, however, he did not record any stats.

Earl Mitchell, DT (#90), Miami Dolphins

2016 Stats: 1 tackle

Mitchell is still on the IR with a calf injury.

Nick Foles, QB (#4), Kansas City Chiefs

Foles continues to ride the bench for Kansas City. Still better than Brock Osweiler.
