Arizona Wildcats in the NFL: Gronk is back

Gronk is back with a bang

They are now done with Week 5 and moving on to Week 6 in the NFL. Week 5 saw the rise of a star again and some former Arizona Wildcats coming back from injury.

Here’s how the former Wildcats fared this past week.

Rob Gronkowski, TE (#87), New England Patriots

Season Stats: 6 rec, 120 yds, 0 TD

Gronk was listed as “Questionable” for the Patriots’ contest against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday due to his lingering hamstring injury. However, he did not let that get in his way. He definitely returned to form with the return of Tom Brady. Gronk had 109 yards on five catches in New England’s 33-13 win.

Brooks Reed, LB/DE (#50), Atlanta Falcons

Season Stats: 4 tackles

After suffering a shoulder injury early in the season, Reed is starting to make some noise now that he is healthy. He recorded three tackles in Atlanta’s victory in Denver on Sunday.

Will Park, S (#34), Denver Broncos

Season Stats: 4 tackles, 1 INT, 1 PBU

After recording his first career interception two weeks ago, Parks didn’t have a large game stats-wise. He only recorded one tackle in Denver’s surprise loss to the Falcons. The rookie is still having a solid year for a first year player.

Ka’Deem Carey, RB (#25), Chicago Bears

Season Stats: 4 car, 9 yds, 0 TD; 2 rec, 18 yds, 0 TD

Carey came into Sunday’s game agains the Indianapolis Colts listed as “Questionable” with his hamstring injury. He did end up playing and only had two yards on one carry and 15 yards on one catch. Rookie Jordan Howard had the majority of the workload.

Marquis Flowers, LB (#53), Cincinnati Bengals

Season Stats: 4 tackles

The Bengals’ defense did not have a great showing against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, losing 28-14. Rookie running back Ezekiel Elliot could not be stopped. Flowers did play Sunday and got into a rather humorous exchange with a Dallas player after a punt. Flowers finished the game with just one tackle.

Nick Folk, K (#2), New York Jets

Season Stats: FG: 10-for-11, long of 48 yards; PAT: 8-for-9

Folk has continued with his consistent kicking game. The Jets played the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday and lost 31-13. Folk went 2-for-2 on field goals, including his season long of 48 yards. He also was 1-for-1 in PAT attempts.

Trevin Wade, DB (#31), New York Giants

Season Stats: 8 tackles, 1 PBU

After getting burned quite a few times last week, Wade did not have that big of a role on Sunday. He only recorded a PBU in New York’s loss to Green Bay.

Nick Foles, QB (#4), Kansas City Chiefs

Foles has still not seen the field this year.

Robert Golden, S (#21), Pittsburgh Steelers

Season Stats: 17 tackles, 1 PBU, 1 fumble recovery, 1 stuff

Golden was out this week again due to his hamstring injury.

Earl Mitchell, DT (#90), Miami Dolphins

Season Stats: 1 tackle

Mitchell is still not playing due to his calf injury.

On another note, after being cut by the Houston Texans, DE Dan Pettinato was resigned to the Texans’ practice squad.
