Arizona football recruiting: 3-star linebacker Joshua Brown verbally commits to Wildcats

Arizona adds yet another commitment to their class

The Arizona Wildcats have been on a hot streak this June, landing several commitments for their 2017 recruiting class. Their latest is 3-star Joshua Brown, 6-foot-2, 220 pound linebacker out of Long Beach Poly (Long Beach, CA).

I spoke with Brown about his recruitment.

Arizona now has 13 commits on the class. Brown makes it three linebackers, joining hybrid Kylan Wilborn and athlete Tony Fields. Arizona is in good shape to land quite a few more linebackers, including Florida prospect Nick Smith and 4-star Isaac Slade-Matatutia.

I like what Brown has to offer. He has a strong build and he's extremely fast to react to the ball. He told me that he was in communication with Donté Williams everyday, which is the first great sign. Usually I can tell how interested the staff is in a guy based on how often they communicate. If it's more than twice a week, it's pretty serious. Every other week, not so much. Everyday? This is a guy the staff wants to close in on.

He appreciates the coaching staff and their honesty, much like the other recruits on the board. That's what has been the key to Arizona's success this offseason. Arizona is hovering around the top 15 in the national recruiting rankings and could potentially jump into the top 10 for a couple days after this commitment hits the database.
