Arizona basketball: Terrance Ferguson reportedly thinking about playing overseas

Will Ferguson actually make it to Tucson?

The saga of Terrance Ferguson's recruitment has been an interesting one. We thought it ended when Sean Miller announced that Ferguson had signed some sort of document with the Arizona Wildcats.

But according to 247Sports' Jerry Meyer, Ferguson may become the next Brandon Jennings.

Meyer, who is obviously well plugged in throughout the basketball recruiting world, says that Ferguson is "expected to play overseas rather than enrolling at Arizona as a freshman, barring an unexpected change of plans."

This feels like pretty strong wording by Meyer.

Ferguson attended Advanced Preparatory International in Dallas, TX. This school is related to Emmanuel Mudiay's former prep school. Mudiay was the last player of note that went this route, deciding to bypass playing his freshman season at SMU in favor of playing overseas in China. Mudiay eventually became the 7th overall pick by the Denver Nuggets.

When Jennings decided to go overseas instead of playing in Tucson, he became the 10th overall pick by the Milwaukee Bucks in 2009 after playing a season in Italy. Ferguson is currently projected to be the 20th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft by NBADraftNet.

We have reason to believe that Ferguson will soon do an interview on this matter. It's certainly something to watch though, especially since he never signed a National Letter of Intent.
