2016 MLB Draft Results: Arizona signee Nick Quintana picked by Red Sox in 11th round

Another Arizona guy going to the Red Sox

In the 11th round of the MLB Draft, the Boston Red Sox selected Arizona Wildcats signee Nick Quintana.

This comes just one day after the Red Sox took current Arizona slugger Bobby Dalbec.

After not being picked in the first ten rounds, Quintana gave the impression that he will be heading to Arizona no matter what in a since deleted tweet.

Quintana has earned a perfect grade from Perfect Game multiple times, and is an elite infielder. Coming to Tucson as a shortstop should give Arizona some much-needed defensive prowess in the infield next year.

"He plays extremely hard and is one of those rare players that has elite tools offensively and defensively," Arizona head coach Jay Johnson said when Quintana signed in November. "Arizona is the perfect place for him to take the next step in his development and we could not be happier to have a player of his caliber joining our program."
