Arizona football recruiting: Recapping the Wildcats' Junior Day
Arizona had quite a few special visitors on campus this weekend and will be expecting more as the spring continues
The Arizona Wildcats had a pretty big day filled with recruiting this past Saturday, hosting many in-state prospects. The coaching staff was competing with Arizona State's spring game which is a pretty great strategy for the staff. Now, the Arizona coaching staff will travel across the country to visit recruits, evaluate and send out offers.

Arizona will also be hosting another Junior Day as we get closer to May and this one should be much larger, with busses filled with recruits from passing leagues, training facilities and high school teams invading the facilities.
Here's a run-down of who was in town this weekend.
Elijah Watson
A Georgia product made his way over which is already pretty good news for Arizona. For an undiscovered recruit to take an unofficial to Arizona without a power five offer shows some interest. He got offered while on his visit and this is a name to watch out for. He currently holds offers to Ball State and Mercer, checking in at 6-foot-3, 270 lbs.
I got a chance to talk to Elijah after receiving his offer to have him recap his unofficial visit. He's been talking to Coach Amey since March and the interest has grown since then, getting this Junior Day visit set up to come check out campus.
"Well the campus and stadium are awesome. This was my first time being out west so I really enjoyed the new experience. I already knew quite a bit about the program and I can see their vision on wanting to improve upon the already winning ways at Arizona," he said about his visit and talks with the coaches. "Coach Amey likes me as a defensive tackle. He's all about getting after the quarterback and we both agree that a disruptive defensive line is the key to success on defense."
He mentioned that Wake Forest, Miss State and Missouri are also showing him interest and offers could be coming soon, but they want to wait to evaluate him before they offer him.
"Arizona being the first power five school to offer makes them firmly at the top of my list. Plus I feel like I'm a pretty good fit there," he added.
He plans to end his recruitment prior to the summer, which bodes extremely well for Arizona.
Highly blessed to receive offer #4 from the University Of Arizona. Go Wildcats #BearDown http://pic.twitter.com/E7JlmGFFEQ

Gregory Jordan
A Los Angeles product made his way over to Arizona for Junior Day. He only has one offer as of now, Nevada. He's a 6-foot-1, 230 lb 2-star defensive end ranked 73rd at his position. At this size you could expect Arizona to recruit him into the stud hybrid defensive end/linebacker role.

Jalen Harris
Here's another reminder that his father is Sean Harris, a member of the Desert Swarm defense. Arizona was his first offer but has picked up New Mexico, Iowa State and UNLV offers since then. He's a wide receiver and defensive end, and Arizona is recruiting him as both. Checking in at 6-foot-3, 210 lbs, he gives Arizona the size. Out of Desert Ridge High School (Mesa, AZ), this would be a great in-state prospect for Arizona to land.

Kaelib Jarrell
Saguaro has been producing a lot of great talent over the years and Jarrell is yet another product. He has offers to almost every Pac-12 school, Nebraska, Mississippi State and Wisconsin, among others. At 6-foot-3, 175 lbs, he's a 3-star ranked 28th in the nation among all safeties, a position that Arizona is in dire need of.

Kenny Oliver
Oliver is a teammate of Jarrell at Saguaro, who doesn't have a whole lot of info out there. He's a 6-foot-3, 185 lb linebacker. For now, you could expect this to be a preferred walk-on situation. Here are his junior highlights.

Drew Dixon
Dixon is a 3-star Tucson product who has Arizona high on his list. He's a versatile athlete that the Wildcats could really put anywhere. Safety seems more likely, but he could also shift to wide receiver and bring the size at 6-foot-4, 200 lbs. Arizona was his first offer and being from Tucson that holds a lot of value, growing up so close to the university. For now, Arizona is the favorite to land Dixon over New Mexico, San Jose State and Hawaii.

My-King Johnson
Arizona got a Tempe High kid to come out to Junior Day, My-King Johnson, a 6-foot-3, 210 lb defensive end. With Kylan Wilborn on board, this would be another big-sized linebacker/defensive end in the class. Johnson has offers to UNLV and Nevada.
I'm proud to receive an offer from UofA. #gowildcats http://pic.twitter.com/Eb5m0VKcMC

Bryce Gilbert
Gilbert is a target that Arizona has been in pretty good contact with and it was huge to get him to Junior Day over ASU's spring practice. Vincent Amey and gang went up to visit him at Higley High (Gilbert, AZ) the other day. He's a 6-foot-5, 210 lb receiver/tight end. Arizona was the first school to offer him. Immediately after, Arizona State, Nebraska and Oregon State got into the mix as well. He's a top 100 receiver and a top 10 in-state prospect that Arizona has a pretty great shot at landing.
