Sonoran Hot Reads: Clancy Pendergast hired by USC

One potential Arizona defensive coordinator off the market

As the Arizona Wildcats continue to search for a new defensive coordinator, we can cross one name off the potential list as Clancy Pendergast is making his way back to USC. He was the Trojans' defensive coordinator in 2013 before spending the last two years with the San Francisco 49ers, and that story has some quotes from Ed Orgeron, who some people have also mentioned as a person they want to see come to Arizona to fill that role. Orgeron is currently the defensive line coach at LSU, but may have been offered the DC job at Mississippi State. If you're looking at the dollars in there, not sure Arizona can pony up enough money to bring the former USC interim head coach to Tucson.
