Sonoran Hot Reads: Memphis hires ASU OC Mike Norvell as head coach

The Coaching Carousel is at full speed now in college football

With uncertainty swirling around Arizona head coach Rich RodriguezASU fans were feeling pretty good about themselves early in the day on Thursday. But then they lost their offensive coordinator, as Mike Norvell was hired to be Memphis' next head coach. This comes on the heels of Miami hiring Mark Richt just a couple days after he was fired by Georgia. Mizzou also found their guy in Barry Odom. The coaching carousel will be spinning at warp speed the next few days, so buckle up.

- One name that will not happen is Jim Michalczik, who was not one of five guys interviewed at Montana State. Coach M was rumored to be in the running for that job, as he coached there from 1992-98

- The Pac-12 Networks are reevaluating some things to make it a better product. Sports TV as a whole could be changing a lot in the near future, especially with ESPN having troubles with subscriber numbers. The Big Ten is hoping for a massive TV rights deal though

- Three-star DT Jabari Watson decommitted from Arizona because of a lack of contact from the staff. Maybe they should have used virtual technology

- We may be on the brink of new and effective ways to diagnose concussions
