Arizona Basketball extends scheduling agreement with Gonzaga into 2021

The Wildcats and the Bulldogs have agreed to additional dates beyond the current home-and-home series

The Arizona Wildcats and the Gonzaga Bulldogs are gearing up to face each other on Saturday in the second leg of a home-and-home series that began last year in McKale Center. This matchup represents a significant and nationally prominent non-conference game for both programs, and it appears that it won't be going away soon.

The two schools have officially have agreed to continue their ongoing series with dates in the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons. The first game leg of the home-and-home series will take place in Tucson on December 14th, 2019, and the second game will be hosted in Spokane on December 5th, 2020.

Arizona has made it a point to schedule premier non-conference games in recent years, with the likes of the Duke Blue Devils, Michigan Wolverines, San Diego State Aztecs, Florida Gators, and Gonzaga all showing up on the slate in the past three seasons alone. This has played a key role in boosting Arizona's tournament resume and gauging the progress of a roster early in the year. Keeping a perennial power like Gonzaga on the schedule is a good look for the program, and makes for matchups worth looking forward to.

There is also the potential for a neutral site game in Staples Center in the next three years between Arizona and Gonzaga.
