Fresno State vs. Arizona: Wildcats look to avoid letdown against Bulldogs

After a thrilling comeback victory against Gonzaga, the 13th-ranked Wildcats welcome the Fresno State Bulldogs to McKale Center on Wednesday night.

The Arizona Wildcats have another game against the Bulldogs. This time it's the Bulldogs from Fresno State. After an exhilarating 68-63 victory at Gonzaga, the Wildcats will attempt to avoid a let down on Wednesday night.

In the all-time series, the Bulldogs and Wildcats are tied at 3-3, and the Wildcats hold a 3-2 advantage at home. The last meeting was in 2007 at McKale when the Wildcats won 69-50.

What to Watch:

Fresno State is coming off of a surprisingly close exhibition 84-72 victory against The Master's College (NAIA). In that game, Marvelle Harris led the Bulldogs with 21 points. He is the Bulldogs' leading scorer this season, averaging 19 points a game.

Harris was named Mountain West Preseason Player of the Year. A couple of other guys to keep an eye on are Cezar Guerrero and Torren Jones. Guerrero leads the Mountain West in three-point shooting, while Jones is averaging just under a double-double this season with 9.4 rebounds and 12.6 points a game.

The thing to watch for the Wildcats will be the evolution of Allonzo Trier. In Spokane, he made some key shots in the first half to keep Arizona in the game. Look for Sean Miller to keep him in the starting lineup and give him some more opportunities on the offensive end.

Gabe York might be the key player for Arizona this season. When York is hitting perimeter shots, he opens up the rest of the offense and extends the defense. So if Arizona wants to play well and make a statement after an impressive win on Saturday, York needs to continue the momentum.

Arizona will have a size advantage against Fresno State with the Bulldogs' tallest player coming in at 6-10. That should mean Dusan Ristic and Ryan Anderson will have a big impact on the game.
