Sonoran Hot Reads: Taryne Mowatt added to Ole Miss coaching staff

The former Arizona star has joined the D-1 coaching ranks

Ever since having a spectacular showing in the 2007 Women's College World Series for Arizona, Taryne Mowatt has been serving as an assistant coach at California Baptist for the past three years. But on Tuesday, her big break became official, as she was named a full-time assistant coach at Ole Miss.

Mowatt was named the most outstanding player of that 2007 WCWS in her first year in the circle taking over for Alicia Hollowell. Mowatt threw three no-hitters on her way to a school-record 370 innings that year, including 60 innings in eight games in seven days in Oklahoma City to win the National Championship. She's certainly a huge figure at Arizona, and it's cool to see her bust into the SEC coaching ranks.
