NBA Summer League: Aaron Gordon and Nick Johnson to play summer ball

Two Wildcats in their second year will play in the Summer League

In addition to the four guys that came out of school this year, the Arizona Wildcats alumni in the NBA Summer League will also include Aaron Gordon and Nick Johnson.

Gordon was placed on the Orlando Magic Blue team, which will play in Orlando from July 4-10. That Orlando league will also have the Pistons and Nets teams, which will have Stanley Johnson and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson on them respectively.

In his first year in the league, Gordon played in 47 games, averaging 17 minutes played, 5.2 points and 3.6 rebounds per contest. The Summer League allows players that have been out of school for 1-3 years to participate, so this will be a chance for Gordon to hone some of his skills.

Another guy that is more than a year out of school that will play this summer is Nick Johnson, who will join last year's draft pick Clint Capela on the squad. Houston will only play in Las Vegas, which begins July 10th.

Johnson played in 28 games for the Rockets last season, averaging 9.4 minutes and 2.6 points per game. The Houston team is not slated to play another team with an Arizona player on it, but could get Atlanta with Brandon Ashley, Philadelphia with T.J. McConnell, or Brooklyn with Hollis-Jefferson in the tournament portion, which begins July 15th.

Either way, there will be plenty of Arizona ties throughout Summer League play in July. It'll be interesting to see how some of them do.
