Rondae Hollis-Jefferson works out with the Boston Celtics

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson potentially rising on some draft boards

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson was in Boston Monday working out for the Celtics, who have the 16th pick in the 2015 NBA Draft.

Rondae is in a very favorable spot on the draft boards. He's not be seen as a lottery pick, projected somewhere around 20-25. This puts him in position to go to a playoff contender, a team that is just one step away from the NBA Finals. Teams in the lottery, particularly top 10, typically draft the best player available. But when you reach the end of the first round, those are teams that have a system, and know where and how they can use their draft picks, allowing them to thrive.

This is why the Boston Celtics might be a great fit for Rondae. Brad Stevens has done a terrific job in Boston and the Celtics have a lot of building blocks in Isaiah Thomas, Avery Bradley, Kelly Olynyk, Marcus Smart and Jared Sullinger.

The NBA Draft will take place on June 25th, giving Rondae Hollis-Jefferson plenty of time to continue his team workouts and raise his stock. It only takes one team to like a player, and it wouldn't be surprising to see Rondae drafted earlier than expected, just like when the Indiana Pacers put faith in Solomon Hill with their first round pick, 23rd overall, in the 2013 NBA Draft.
