Arizona basketball: Allonzo Trier makes USA Basketball U-19 final roster

Trier and Sean Miller will be going to Greece together

Arizona Wildcats and USA Basketball U-19 head coach Sean Miller has set the final roster for the U19 World Championships, and incoming freshman Allonzo Trier will join coach in Greece.

Trier will be joined by seven other players from last year's gold medal-winning U18 team. Those players are: Isaiah Briscoe, Jalen Brunson, Terrance Ferguson, Harry Giles, Josh Jackson, Caleb Swanigan, and Jayson Tatum.

The final four players that round out the 12-man team are Jawun Evans, Chinanu Onauku,  L.J. Peak, and Thomas Welsh.

The 2015 U19 World Championships run from June 27th to July 5th in Heraklion, Crete, Greece.

"Obviously it was a hard fight to make this team because of the talent," Sean Miller said. "The thing that we like a lot is the fact that we have eight players of the 12 that have competed and won a gold medal, several have won multiple gold medals. We have a lot of versatility in our lineup, we have players that can play more than one position and I think playing pressure basketball like we want to play defensively and offensively, that we have the depth, athleticism and quickness, and also some shooting that will really allow us to play a style that we can be successful at,"

With all the international experience on the team, the US team should be the clear favorite to defend its 2013 U19 World Championship. And, Trier will get that added experience of playing for Miller in competitive games before ever having to take the court in McKale.
