Arizona basketball: Allonzo Trier finalist for USA's U-19 team

The future Wildcat makes it through the first round of cuts

Sean Miller and the USA Basketball U-19 team coaching staff made their first round of cuts, and Arizona's Allonzo Trier is one of the 16 finalists for the 12-man roster.

One of the five players cut was Arizona 2016 commit T.J. Leaf. He along with Malik Pope, Silas Melson, Eric Paschall and Seventh Woods were all sent home.

Here's the complete list of players that Trier will be competing against for a spot on the final roster:

Justin Bibbs, So., Virginia Tech

Isaiah Briscoe, Fr., Kentucky

Jalen Brunson, Fr., Villanova

Brekkott Chapman, So., Utah

Vince Edwards, So., Purdue

Jawun Evans, Fr., Oklahoma State

Terrance Ferguson, Class of 2016

Harry Giles, Class of 2016

Josh Jackson, Class of 2016

Riley LaChance, So., Vanderbilt

Chinanu Onauku, So., Louisville

L.J. Peak, So., Georgetown

Caleb Swanigan, Fr., Purdue

Allonzo Trier, Fr., Arizona

Thomas Welsh, So., UCLA

The team had a scrimmage on Sunday night, which you can find highlights of here. According to the Daily Star's Bruce Pascoe, Trier finished with ten points, five rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
