The Arizona Wildcats have two seniors on the roster this season, and because of the pandemic they could still be around next year.

However, neither guard Terrell Brown or forward Ira Lee are ready to think about returning for 2021-22 when the 2020-21 campaign has yet to begin.

“I haven’t given it much thought, I’m just focused on this season,” said Brown, a graduate transfer from Seattle who could start at one of the three guards spots.

Added Lee, who enters this season as only the eighth player in the Sean Miller era to play his entire four-year career at the UA and plans to be a leader for an inexperienced frontcourt: “I’ve been thinking solely of this year. I’m approaching this year like it’s my last and solely I want to win this year. I know a lot of expectations for us in the media and publicly isn’t that big, but what’s going on in our locker room, what’s going on at McKale (Center) every single day and we practice, we still believe we’re top dog, we still believe we’re gonna be an even better, harder working team this season.”

The NCAA has granted an extra year of eligibility to all student-athletes due to the coronavirus pandemic, which halted the 2019-20 basketball season in March and which has caused major changes to the 2020-21 campaign.

Like Brown and Lee, Miller hasn’t thought much about how the rule will affect Arizona.

“We have to get through this season first, but I am aware of it and I think it’s a great rule that was passed,” he said a couple weeks ago.
