Arizona in the NBA Playoffs: Solomon Hill, Andre Iguodala see roles expand as Heat grab 3-1 lead on Celtics

NBA: Playoffs-Boston Celtics at Miami Heat Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Solomon Hill made his postseason first appearance and Andre Iguodala played substantial minutes as the Miami Heat beat the Boston Celtics 112-109 Wednesday night to grab a commanding 3-1 series lead in the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Heat are a win Saturday away from advancing to the NBA Finals.

Hill and Iguodala briefly shared the court together in the first quarter. Hill’s appearance was a surprise, as he hadn’t stepped onto a court since Aug. 14.

Hill quickly picked up two fouls and ultimately played four minutes, recording significant no stats.

While Hill’s night was ending, Iguodala’s was just beginning. The veteran played 27 minutes after seeing just seven minutes of action the previous two games as he dealt with a score back.

Iguodala was 1-4 from the field; his lone basket was a 3-pointer. He also recorded two rebounds, two assists and three steals as an active cog in Miami’s zone defense.

The star of the night was the other Wildcat who came off the bench for Miami: rookie Tyler Herro of Kentucky. Herro scored 37 points on 14-21 shooting, including five 3-pointers.

Miami held a single-digit lead for most of the game and held on in the closing minutes to earn a commanding series lead.

Jayson Tatum overcame a horrendous first half to lead Boston with 28 points.

What’s next?

The Miami Heat can clinch the series with a Game 5 win. Tip-off is Friday at 5:30 p.m. MST on ESPN.
