The 6-foot-4 swingman currently attends Westover High School in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Before that, he went to Marana High School in Arizona, which could prove useful for the Wildcats in this day and age where on-campus visits are prohibited through at least September due to the coronavirus crisis. Dunn is already familiar with Tucson and the UA.
“That’s my hometown, and Coach (Sean) Miller and them, they just want the hometown kid back and think I’d do really well representing,” Dunn told Jamie Shaw.
Per Vandy247, Dunn could make his decision in September or maybe even earlier.
“I may speed it up just a little bit, because I don’t think we’re gonna get out to see any schools,” he said.
As a junior, Dunn averaged 20.4 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.7 steals and 2.0 assists per game while shooting 54 percent from the field and 45 percent from 3. ESPN analyst Paul Biancardi compared Dunn to former Kentucky guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
“Excellent position size and a good decision maker,” Biancardi tweeted. “Makes others better with ball movement and court vision. Scores but winning matters more. Potential on-ball defender too.”
Dunn also compares himself to Damian Lillard.
“Just in terms of how I shoot the ball,” he said.
