Former Arizona Wildcats guard Kadeem Allen has signed with French club JL Bourg Basket, the team announced Monday.

JL Bourg Basket plays in Pro A, France’s top league. They were in fifth place (of 18) and had qualified for Eurocup before the 2019-20 season was cut short by the coronavirus crisis.

This comes roughly a month after Allen was waived by the New York Knicks.

The 27-year-old appeared in 10 games for the Knicks before the coronavirus crisis postponed the 2019-20 season. He was averaging 5.1 points, 2.1 assists and 0.5 steals in 11.7 minutes, shooting 43 percent from the field and 31.3 percent from 3.

Allen had spent most of the season in the G League with the Westchester Knicks, where he averaged 13.7 points, 5.3 assists and 1.3 steals in 28.8 minutes. He struggled with his 3-point shot, converting 26 percent of his triples.

Allen was selected in the second round of the 2017 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics. He appeared in 17 games with Boston in 2017-18 before being waived and snatched up on a two-way contract with the division-rival Knicks.

In two seasons at Arizona, the former junior college product averaged 9.1 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists while playing stellar perimeter defense.
