The Arizona Wildcats have added a few transfers this offseason and added their fifth on Sunday.

The team announced the signing of New Mexico State graduate transfer defensive lineman Roy Lopez via Twitter.

Lopez joins New Mexico's Aaron Blackwell as graduate transfer defensive linemen that the ‘Cats have added since the end of the 2019 season.

Much like Blackwell, Lopez is an Arizona native. He played his high school ball at Mesquite in Gilbert, with his hometown being nearby Tempe.

Lopez had a very productive and successful career in Las Cruces. He finished his time with the Aggies with 137 tackles (20 for a loss), 8 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and 4 passes broken up. His best season was his 2018 junior season, where he finished with 63 tackles (12.5 for a loss), 4 sacks, 2 fored fumbles, a fumble recovery, and a broken up pass.

He also received Sun Belt Conference Honorable Mention honors for his sophomore performance in 2017.

His 2019 season was cut short due to injury, however, he should be good to go for the season, whenever it happens.
