The 6-foot-4, 238 pound New Orleans native held 31 offers overall. He picked Arizona over Colorado, Washington State, Illinois, Indiana, Boston College, Purdue, Memphis, UCF, Hawaii, New Mexico, and others.
Peterson plays for De La Salle High School in New Orleans and joins his teammate Montrell Johnson Jr, a three-star running back, in pledging to the Cats. Arizona has commitments from two other Louisiana prospects in three-star linebacker Kolbe Cage and three-star wide receiver Tyrese Johnson.
Peterson is ranked as the 1,212th player nationally, the 76th strong side defensive end, and the 38th player in Louisiana in 247Sports composite rankings. Internally, 247Sports pegs Peterson as the 64th strong side defensive end and the 34th overall player in Louisiana.
