The Arizona Wildcats want Bama. No, really. They do.

Arizona and the Alabama Crimson Tide have scheduled a home-and-home series that will open in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on Sept. 4, 2032 and return to Tucson on Sept. 3, 2033.

Assuming they don’t meet in a bowl game before then, it will be the first time the Wildcats have faced the Crimson Tide, who have won 17 national championships including five since 2009.

Overall, the Wildcats have played just seven games against SEC opponents, going 1-2 against Auburn, 0-0-1 against Georgia and 0-3 against LSU. Arizona also has a home-and-home series scheduled with Mississippi State that starts in 2022 and concludes in 2023.

“We are very excited to announce this home-and-home series with Alabama,” said Arizona athletic director Dave Heeke, whose predecessor Greg Byrne is Alabama’s AD. “Facing a marquee opponent like the Crimson Tide is not only important to our football program, but bringing a high-profile opponent to Arizona Stadium will make a tremendous impact on our community. We look forward to welcoming the Alabama football program to Tucson, as well as an exciting trip to Tuscaloosa.”

Alabama coach Nick Saban will be 81 when the series starts, and some of the players who will play in the series are currently in elementary school. Mark your calendars anyway.
