Junior outfielder Jenna Kean has entered the transfer portal, per sources, becoming the latest Arizona softball player to leave the program.

The speedy slapper appeared in 110 career games and made 82 starts (37 as a freshman, 37 as a sophomore, eight as a junior). She can play all three outfield spots.

Kean was a career .297 hitter and hit a career-best .353 in 2020, but only got 17 at-bats as Arizona was loaded with outfielders (and will be again in 2021).

Kean’s speed set her apart as she swiped 18 bases in three seasons, more than any other player during that span.

Kean also showed some pop, with 10 of her 63 career hits going for extra bases, including two homers.

Before enrolling at Arizona, Kean attended Los Alamitos High School in Los Alamitos, California. She was the No. 44 recruit in the country, per FloSoftball, and a PGF All-American as she starred for the Firecrackers at the travel level.

Fellow juniors Ivy Davis and Carli Campbell, who started their fair share of games, have also entered the portal. Roster movement was expected since Arizona is returning all six of its seniors and bringing in the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class, meaning there is not enough playing time to go around.

Softball transfers generally don’t have to sit out a year before playing at their new schools.
