New Arizona commit Kerr Kriisa ranked a 4-star prospect by Rivals

When Kerr Kriisa committed to the Arizona Wildcats, it came out of the blue. So much so that he was not ranked by any of the major recruiting outlets.

Well, that’s changed now, as Kriisa is a four-star prospect, according to Rivals.com. His pledge means Arizona now has the No. 18 recruiting class in the country per Rivals’ rankings. Kriisa is joined by two other four-star prospects in Dalen Terry and Ben Mathurin.

While Kriisa was not assigned a numerical ranking by Rivals, a four-star designation means he’d rank somewhere between 33rd and 136th overall. Same goes for Mathurin, who is listed as a four-star prospect but doesn’t have a number attached to his ranking.

247Sports ranks Arizona’s class as the 44th-best in the country, but that is a deflated number since Kriisa is unranked.

Arizona still has three scholarships to fill, so it will be interesting to see where the class ranks when all is said and done. It is important to note that the aforementioned rankings do not include Arizona’s addition of Seattle grad transfer Terrell Brown.

Of course, after losing the entire starting five, the Wildcats would be in deep trouble if they didn’t have a solid class coming in.

Arizona has only finished outside the Top 10 in 247Sports’ rankings once since 2011—that was in 2018 when they lost Shareef O’Neal, Jahvon Quinerly and likely a couple other recruits because of the FBI investigation into college basketball corruption.

Arizona confirms Kriisa’s signing

The UA officially acknowledged the addition of Kriisa (meaning he has signed a letter of intent) by posting this graphic on Twitter:

Sean Miller has not yet commented on Mathurin or Kriisa, but that will come once the class is finalized.
