Arizona’s Aari McDonald wins Ann Meyers Drysdale Award

Aari McDonald added another accolade Monday, being named the winner of the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award, which is given the top shooting guard in the country by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

McDonald, who recently announced she is returning for her senior season, is the first player in Arizona Wildcats women’s basketball history to win one of the five Naismith positional awards.

McDonald led the Pac-12 in both scoring (20.6) and steals (2.3) per game, and was named the conference’s defensive player of the year as well as an all-conference selection.

McDonald is still up for a few other awards like the Wade Trophy and Honda Award, but for now her other accolades include...
